Brett found deep joy in the outdoors—in the stillness of the woods and the early morning light. He had a true hunter’s soul, not just in skill but in spirit. He believed in respecting the land, understanding nature’s rhythms, and honoring every experience the wilderness had to offer. Turkey season, especially, held a special place in his heart.

He loved sharing that passion with others, guiding friends, family, and new hunters through their first experiences in the field. Brett had a gift for making those moments unforgettable. He didn’t just teach how to hunt—he shared why we hunt: for connection, respect, the thrill,  always a few laughs and the stories that stay with us for a lifetime.

Some of his proudest moments came while hunting with his son, Blake. Those early mornings together—quiet talks, listening, learning, the excitement of a first gobble—were memories Brett cherished deeply. Though their time together was far too short, those moments and that bond live on in Blake, and in all who carry Brett’s passion forward.

Brett’s legacy reaches far beyond the field. It lives in how he treated others—with kindness, grit, generosity, and a deep appreciation for the simple, sacred things. He showed us how to stand tall without seeking the spotlight, how to lead with heart, and how to leave behind something that outlasts a lifetime.
